AGRITOURISTIC FARM   “LA SELVETELLA”  Caiazzo

Besides the walks, you have to visit the Ethnographical Museum “Kere”, founded to hand down to the posterity and to make appreciate the simplicity of the clothes, the tools, the agricultural implements of the Caiatina rustic tradition

The ancient town of Caiazzo, whose foundation seems to have taken place before Rome’s one, is very near.The historical centre preserves its evocative interlacing of alleys and little streets, on which look out houses and buildings of different ages.

The town and its territory can be visited even by bike, given by the local Associazione di Amatori di Mountainbike.For the ones who prefer trekking, we recommend relaxing and agreeable walks in the forests of the farm, along the tracks for the transportation of wood, to breathe deeply pure  air.

Caserta is placed at about 15 kilometres, with its superb royal palace, projected by Vanvitelli, (the second  most visited monument in Italy) with a magnificent and wonderful park.  In the near S.Leucio there are some silk-factories, which produce the famous silk, used all over the world. You can also find the Belvedere, from where you can enjoy a very beautiful view.

The Casertavecchia area has a great charm, too, which keeps its old medieval buildings, destination for several tourists. For the ones who love more ancient works we recommend to visit the town of Capua and of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, which preserve in their respective Archaeological Museums unique masterpieces. You can also visit the remains of the ancient Capua Amphitheatre.

At last but not at least, we want to remind you the Benedictine Basilica of S.Angelo in Formis with the most important cycle of medieval frescoes of the South of Italy.

Changing from culture to gluttony, you’ll be drawn by several delicacy workshops,  which produce buffalo mozzarella and the already known wines, appreciated by the Romans, too.

From the end of October till the end of December you can join in the olive crushing in the local oil presses, still artisan but conformed to the hygienic standards, where you can taste the just made oil.
